Things to do
The hostel is situated in a prime location from which to discover the North-west Donegal area. Just a step outside the door is the beautiful landscape of Gweedore. This area is a hikers paradise with endless rolling hills, loughs and hidden rivers just waiting to be discovered.
A few minutes walk from the hostel is Ionad Cois Locha/The Lakeside Centre, a multi-purpose visitor center complete with it's own farm, children's play area, go carts, boat trips on Dunlewey Lough, music venue and crafts shop. Great for a family day out. Watch out for international traditional and world music sessions in the summer months.
Just a short ten minute drive west from the hostel is the nearest beach at the seaside village of Bunbeg. This white sandy strand is one of many along the endless winding coast of Donegal. Carrickfinn beach(20 minutes drive from the hostel)close to Donegal airport is a particullar favorite of ours. Ask at the hostel for direction to more beautiful secluded beaches and some secret places to swim!
