The Hostel.
Just completed at the end of July '07 - this brand new, purpose built hostel is located on the same site where the old Errigal Hostel stood since the late 1950's. The beautiful and wild ruggedness of the local area of Dunlewey has attracted travelers here for decades.
Errigal Hostel is fully kitted out for the accommodation of up to 60 people in a selection of rooms from 2 to 6 beds. All you hikers out there will be glad to hear that the new hostel includes a purpose built drying room - not to mention a Laundry room also. A fully featured self-catering kitchen with everything you need is available for you to use - just bring the food! The hostel has a large and spacious common room with TV and DVD, nice to put your feet up after a day in the hills. If it's peace and quiet you need or perhaps a place to write a postcard, then the hostel also has a quiet room complete with a log fire waiting for you. The eating area which sits 60 people has magnificent views of Dunlewey Lough and the Poisoned Glen to the front, plus a full unobstructed view of Errigal Mountain from the back. A great place to enjoy the views while eating your cornflakes!
Other features of the hostel include an internet room with two computers, an elevator which is wheelchair accessable, spacious bedrooms with thick mattress beds for a good nights sleep - all heated by an eco-frendly wood pellet boiler system.

There's a selection of 2, 4 and 6 bedded rooms to choose from. The six-bedded rooms are built in a mezzanine fashion. Each bed features it's own reading light and also it's own lockable cupboard for your belongings (bring your own lock or rent one here at the hostel). Bed linen is included in the price.The hostel overlooks the Poison Glen with breath taking views of Dunlewey Lough to the front and a full view of Errigal Mountain to the rear. We are conveniently situated right in the heart of Donegal's north-west - a great starting point for all activity's in this part of the county.
