Cycling:

Image of road to Dunlewey with Errigal Mountain in the distanceCycling in Donegal gives a wonderful mix of coastal and highland landscape where you can feel completely away from it all. The pace of life is wonderful, easy going and the people amongst the most welcoming in the country. Discover kilometers of quiet, winding narrow roads, often deserted and well away from the bustle of urban life. Experience Donegal's coastline, with it's craggy headlands and endless sandy beaches. Pass by meandering rivers, dramatic lakes and quiet woodlands. Then visit Donegal's welcoming towns and villages to unwind after a great day in the saddle.   Most signs are in English and Irish. Ireland is moving towards full metrication, so there is a mixture of older signs giving distances in miles and new style green and white signs showing kilometers. Brown signs indicated with white lettering indicate places of cultural, historic or leisure interest. All sign posts and speed limits in Northern Ireland are in miles and place names are displayed in the English language.
